Xi’an, the starting point of this ancient network of trade and cultural routes, is the project’s primary inspiration.
The dial, hand-assembled with red mother-of-pearl in a mosaic pattern, reinterprets the traditional cloud motif, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune in Chinese culture.
The design evokes the orderly rhythm of imperial decorations, while the gold hour markers and Chinese ideogram numerals complete the composition, reinforcing the connection to the visual language of the ancient capital.
